I have had a couple of weeks off but they have been very busy. There is lots to talk about. Firstly summer 2018 has been very hot & sunny & the weather has been excellent for taking photos of Somerset’s wonderful landscapes & getting the perfect photos at just the right moment. I have seen & listened to a lot of great music over the summer. I have already shared my experience at this years Godney Gathering. This weekend however was a little different. On Friday was the Summers End Showcase at the King Arthur which featured Lewis Poole, Ham Legion who I have not seen perform before, the energetic Zaranis & the awesome headliners Last One Home. I ended up being the photographer & Also had a little experience at being a stage manager which was pretty cool.
On Saturday was the annual Rock Against Cancer charity event in Street of which I was one of the official photographers. There were lots of great acts. Many which I had never seen before. I also got to see one of my favourites again Cosmic Ninja who did an absolutely electric set. I really enjoyed the day & a massive well done to Max & his team for organising this great event for an extremely important cause.
This past week saw me visit not one but 2 great places I On the Somerset/Dorset border. First was Forde Abbey near Chard. It’s full of lush flowers & wonderful architecture. Also lovely gardens & ponds. It is also known for having the most powerful water fountain in England. I also visited the beach at West Bay. I got some great photos with my long lens. They included a passing seagull & a few different helicopters. I feel that my photography has really improved over the past few weeks. Next confirmed gig for me Is the Music Expo at the Bath & West on the 22nd September. Until next time you can see my photos on my Facebook & Instagram pages.
