Glastonbury Calling: My Adventure

For me Glastonbury Calling began with an appearance on Gfm’s Thursday Live show with Ian Liversidge & some of the members from the Glastonbury Calling team. We were talking all about the acts that were due to perform at the event & our thoughts. I had to read out the lineup & talk about the acts that were due to perform at the Hawthorns. The DJ night was well attended & proved successful. I enjoyed the headline set from Brandon Block & found a new sound in Forgive & Forget.

The big day arrived. Plenty of music & styles to fit everyone’s varied tastes. First up for me was a small acoustic set from a new person to me John Ross. I then had a wander up to The a Hawthorns & saw Maaike Siegerist who I wanted to see perform. Next up I went down to the King Arthur to watch Promises Promises who I really liked & hope they come back here again. Another opportunity to watch the awesome twosome that is Miss Kill. You need to check out their sound. After that I got to see both Stevie & The Masquerades & Shoto-Daito. Both fantastic bands & really enjoyed their sets again. Their styles of music is ones from a favourite genre of mine dance/electronica. There were loads of talented acts playing but unfortunately not enough time in the world to get around to checking them all out.

A big well done to Ian & Karen Liversidge for organising such an amazing event & all the acts that I had the pleasure of watching & photographing their sets. My own personal thanks to Ian, Karen, Georgie & Paige for letting me be a part of the Glastonbury Calling team.
