Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition supported by PRS for Music and PRS Foundation is back and for one week only you can enter!
You have until Monday 4th of February at 5pm to get your entries in. It doesn’t matter which genre your music fits in to. This is open to everyone and … it is free to enter! In order to enter you need to have a link to an original song on soundcloud plus a link of you performing live, even if you get your mate to record it on your phone. Once you have both of these things ready then head over to www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk. There you will find all you need to send over your music.
“After our year off, we can’t wait to hear the latest crop of undiscovered music that’s out there. New music is hugely important to what this Festival is about, and the Emerging Talent Competition has helped us to unearth so many incredible artists from across the genres. Bring on the entries!” – Emily Eavis, Glastonbury Co – Organiser.
Previous winners have included Declan Mckenna and She Grew The Gun who have gone on to have successful career. It is important to note that in previous years all 8 finalists have been offered slots at the Festival so even if you don’t win you will still be in a brilliant position to get your name out there.
And of course the prizes. As well as being offered a slot on the main stage of Glastonbury the winner will also receive a £5,000 Talent Development prize from PRS Foundations to help with their development and songwriting, something which I am sure will go along way to helping get a career going. The two runners up will receive £2,500 PRS Foundation Talent Development prize. So it is well worth entering but don’t forget, you don’t have long!
